Not all QR codes are created equal

If you’re using QR codes anywhere in your business, business cards, posters, packaging, it’s worth knowing they’re not all built the same.

A lot of free generators create “static” codes, meaning the destination is locked in forever. Change the link later and the code just stops working, so you’d need to reprint everything from scratch.

Some free tools also expire after a trial, or don’t generate a high enough resolution for printing on things like posters, banners or signage, so you end up with a blurry, unreadable code once it’s scaled up.

Before you use one, it’s worth checking three things: is it static or dynamic, does it expire, and is it print ready.

A small thing to get right, but it can save you a real headache, and a reprint bill, down the line.
